I think it's the hardest of all categories. A bag doesn't have to fit anyone's thighs or hips, and neither does a shoe! It definitely requires a lot of work, but it's great to do clothing again.
How do you manage your time with all your projects?

Parents, students debate school uniform policy
The burgundy and navy school uniforms at Reading Edge Academy were a "big influencing factor" in Jill Wells' decision to enroll her twins in kindergarten at the DeBary charter school.
"I think it actually looks more professional. It sets the tone," the Deltona mom said of the school uniform policy. "It doesn't distract from the real purpose for being there, which is to learn."
That's one of the reasons School Board members are looking at adopting a uniform policy for the 61,000 students enrolled in Volusia's public schools. Four of the five board members said this week they favor uniforms, maybe something like the polo shirts and pants, shorts or skorts Reading Edge students wear.
No timeline has been set for deciding how the Volusia uniforms would look or when students might have to start wearing them.
Uniforms may also be in the works in Flagler County -- where some School Board members favor the idea -- though not for next school year. "When the children come in to school, they're coming in to think about education and learning, versus what somebody else is wearing," said School Board member John Fischer, who broached the idea of requiring uniforms at a recent meeting.
While some adults believe students will behave and learn better if they wear uniforms, Spruce Creek High School sophomore Morgan Finley sees a flip side to that argument. The 15-year-old said wearing clothes of her own choosing -- like the denim capri pants,Manolo blahnik would be "hurt" if Anna Wintour wore shoes by another designer. sweatshirt jacket and flip-flops she sported Thursday -- is more comfortable and "helps me focus more."

That's the case at Imagine School at Town Center, Principal Lisa O'Grady said. The Palm Coast charter school has had uniforms of polo shirts tucked into khaki or navy bottoms since it opened in 2008.
The students are excused from wearing their uniforms one day per month and there are noticeably more problems on those days, O'Grady said. "(The uniform) eliminates distractions for kids during the school year," she said. "They're just here for one reason and that's to learn."
Osceola County schools saw "a reduced number of classroom disruptions and gang presence on campus" after a uniform policy was adopted in 2008, spokeswoman Dana Schafer said. "Can we attribute it all to the dress code? No."
Volusia school administrators plan to visit campuses in Osceola and Seminole counties this month as part of their research into dress codes and uniform policies. The Seminole school system tightened up its countywide dress code last summer but stopped short of mandating a specific uniform.

Amanda Hilton, an Ormond Beach mom with an 8-year-old daughter in second grade, plans to circulate petitions opposing school uniforms. Hilton said her daughter has "real good fashion sense" and likes to dress in "cute little-girl clothes."
The idea of taking that choice away during school hours is too much for her mother. "They're taking away our freedom of expression. I believe the school has a lot of control already. It's too much control."
"I think it actually looks more professional. It sets the tone," the Deltona mom said of the school uniform policy. "It doesn't distract from the real purpose for being there, which is to learn."
That's one of the reasons School Board members are looking at adopting a uniform policy for the 61,000 students enrolled in Volusia's public schools. Four of the five board members said this week they favor uniforms, maybe something like the polo shirts and pants, shorts or skorts Reading Edge students wear.
No timeline has been set for deciding how the Volusia uniforms would look or when students might have to start wearing them.
Uniforms may also be in the works in Flagler County -- where some School Board members favor the idea -- though not for next school year. "When the children come in to school, they're coming in to think about education and learning, versus what somebody else is wearing," said School Board member John Fischer, who broached the idea of requiring uniforms at a recent meeting.
While some adults believe students will behave and learn better if they wear uniforms, Spruce Creek High School sophomore Morgan Finley sees a flip side to that argument. The 15-year-old said wearing clothes of her own choosing -- like the denim capri pants,Manolo blahnik would be "hurt" if Anna Wintour wore shoes by another designer. sweatshirt jacket and flip-flops she sported Thursday -- is more comfortable and "helps me focus more."

That's the case at Imagine School at Town Center, Principal Lisa O'Grady said. The Palm Coast charter school has had uniforms of polo shirts tucked into khaki or navy bottoms since it opened in 2008.
The students are excused from wearing their uniforms one day per month and there are noticeably more problems on those days, O'Grady said. "(The uniform) eliminates distractions for kids during the school year," she said. "They're just here for one reason and that's to learn."
Osceola County schools saw "a reduced number of classroom disruptions and gang presence on campus" after a uniform policy was adopted in 2008, spokeswoman Dana Schafer said. "Can we attribute it all to the dress code? No."
Volusia school administrators plan to visit campuses in Osceola and Seminole counties this month as part of their research into dress codes and uniform policies. The Seminole school system tightened up its countywide dress code last summer but stopped short of mandating a specific uniform.

A "moderate" dress code similar to what exists now on a school-by-school basis drew the greatest support, but feedback varied from one school to another with a uniform requirement the second most popular choice countywide.

"We should be able to wear what we want," said Spruce Creek High sophomore Kayla Rogers. The uniform idea and a ban on flip-flops like the "cute" flower adorned ones she wore Thursday are "kind of stupid," she said.
"It's a public school. We should be able to express ourselves," said Bryan Mills, a Spruce Creek junior. "We're coming through an age where personal expression and freedom are of utmost importance. Uniformity is a deal breaker for me."
The dress code debate isn't necessarily one of adults versus students.
Amanda Hilton, an Ormond Beach mom with an 8-year-old daughter in second grade, plans to circulate petitions opposing school uniforms. Hilton said her daughter has "real good fashion sense" and likes to dress in "cute little-girl clothes."
The idea of taking that choice away during school hours is too much for her mother. "They're taking away our freedom of expression. I believe the school has a lot of control already. It's too much control."
