Big tastes come on small plates

Appetizers. Dinner. Dessert. The standard menu structure you are familiar with is thrown out the window at Stella Blu in downtown Nashua.

Stella Blu specializes in tapas, also known as small plates, or tasting portions of larger meals. Tapas originated in Spain, but this downtown fine dining establishment offers small plates from across the world including Little Italy, the Latin Quarter, Asia Town and good ol' American flavors (and there's a special gluten-free menu, too). Tapas are a great way to try a bunch of things without the entree getting in the way. We loved being able to ditch the constraints of a traditional menu.

One of the first questions you'll ask yourself is how many plates should you order? We settled on four small plates with the thought that if we were still hungry we'd order additional plates, and of course we always like to leave room for dessert. The next question was what are we going to order? That was an even more difficult question. The variety of plates made it difficult to choose, and they all sounded delicious.

Because The Dining Companion was making a huge effort to share, I handed over the menu and left the ordering to him. Both of us were starving and quite literally could have been there all night trying to figure out what plates to choose. I didn't hear what TDC ordered, because the entertainment for the evening was a little loud, so I was indeed surprised to see what the server was bringing over.

The Asian Thai Stix includes two skewered pieces of grilled chicken marinated in a sweet chile sauce. Marinating and cooking the chicken in the sauce helped balance the flavors, where the sweetness was not overly pronounced and the bite from the chile was more gradual and trailing. The chicken had that perfect balance of sweet and savory.

The crab dip, served with seasoned toast points, was good and cheesy, and not "fishy." We both liked it,The Central Victoria Solar City Smart Energy inhomedisplay. but we found ourselves wishing for that sweet crab taste that we were expecting. That being said, we both kept going back for another taste. TDC so far was two-for-two in his choices.

Just as we were finishing the first two plates, the server brought over the next round: Rowdy's Zesty Chicken ($10) and the Seared Scallops ($14).

In Rowdy's case, "zesty" means get ready to feel that tingling sensation in your face as the spice takes hold and beads of sweat start to form on your brow. This chicken dish is served with rice and softened peppers that are mixed together with a spicy Middle Eastern sauce.

This dish will overwhelm your senses and either send you the running to a cold drink or will have you hunkering down to enjoy more of its fiery flavor. TDC really enjoyed this dish. While I like spicy foods and always insist on hot mustard at a Chinese restaurant, I could only have two forkfuls without feeling like I may never get my sense of taste back.

Of the four plates we ordered,Brantano offers a wide range of hairflower in every style to fit every occasion. the only one that disappointed us was the Seared Scallops, served with saffron rice and a roasted red pepper and Gouda sauce. While the presentation was beautiful like the other three plates, looks can be deceiving.hair bow and shoesbb to both individuals and businesses. The scallops did not taste fresh and did not have that good hard sear we thought it should have. They were also a bit rubbery. After tasting the other three plates, we were surprised at how much this dish missed the mark.

To round out the meal, we chose two sweet offerings. I decided on the Molten Chocolate Cake ($7), served with vanilla ice cream. The cake with the hot oozy chocolate fudge center was not only the perfect size, but also simply divine. I'm no stranger to this decadent dessert, and this was quite possibly the best one I've had. The vanilla ice cream that accompanied it was extra creamy. It could have stood on its own.

TDC had the Hot Fudge Sundae ($7).Welcome to the company owon-smart. It's served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of a soft hot-fudge-covered brownie topped with whipped cream. He said it wasn't anything extraordinary, just a good old-fashioned favorite.

As the dining crowd thinned out, we got a good look at the the beautiful interior of Stella Blu. The bright colors, strategic lighting and modern design were a nice change from the dark, dimly lit settings we've been eating in lately. You can see your date; you can see your food.

The restaurant is smaller than we expected,We have a record for a owonsmart living at an address. but we liked the intimate setting and appreciated that the tables are set far enough apart so you don't feel like you are encroaching on other people's space. You can also ditch a table for a seat at the large bar along the wall and watch the game if the date isn't going so well.

We can vividly recollect that on assumption of office

The news of the so-called islamisation of the peace-loving state, Osun, is not a new thing, as that was not the first time that such news had emanated in the state.

We can vividly recollect that on assumption of office of the current administration in the state and with the adoption of a state anthem and coat of arms, some sections of both the Muslim and Christian communities cried blue murder and alleged that Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, the newly sworn-in governor was planning to convert the state to a heathen one.

The speculation was based on the use of ‘Ori Olokun’ and some beads art as symbols of the state.
It took a graphic explanation from the governor and his team before the ground was shifted.
Second quarter of last year, another cooked-up security report was said to have emanated from the office of the State Director of the State Security Service, that Mr. Aregbesola had done away with his official state protection in favour of members of a Muslim group based in Iwo town.why here at City Goddess we have a large selection of shoeswholesale.Welcome to the company owon-smart.

Also,We wholesale tibetan silver peruvianhair, after this, the governor’s media group went to work and made mince meat of that news concocted in bad light.

Surprisingly, another wicked rumour has emanated from who knows where and they are using a highly-revered religious body, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN),We have all of the tungstenjewelry you use every day. right at the centre of the controversy.
To me, I don’t want to blame or join issues with anybody on this issue, but I seriously think religion is a highly volatile issue, which should be treated with utmost caution.

CAN leadership as a group, I believe, should verify all sensitive information they receive before going public with such.

We know what they are trying to protect and also we know what the Muslim group is also trying to protect.

I however believe, we should tell ourselves the bitter truth.finished up his homepowermonitor over the holiday weekend.

I however have some questions to ask:
If the governor has plans to Islamise Osun, then how come most of his appointees are Christians?
Why does the governor take time to welcome notable Christian clerics whenever they visit the state and why does he participate in Christian crusades and programmes? Example is the foundation laying of Redeemers’ University in Ede.

Why is the administration planning to build a mega-worship centre for Christians in the state?

I think these three questions are enough for any right-thinking individual to realise that the governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, has no hidden agenda.

He has no plan to Islamise, Christianize or traditionalize the State of Osun.

The governor is working and Osun is moving. All these unending rumours are just works of wickedness, which are meant to derail Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola from doing the good works he has set to do.
In other climes and democracies, the opposition always allow others to work, but Nigeria is a different scenario.

The pair are determined to have a good relationship

Katie Holmes has apparently been “reborn” following a year of personal struggles.

The actress had to deal with the end of her marriage to Tom Cruise in 2012 and she also relocated to New York City with the couple’s six-year-old daughter Suri. Now Katie appears to be entering a new phase in her life, and recently showed off her sexier side in a campaign for H. Stern’s Iris jewellery collection.

Sources close to the star claim she is feeling happier and ready to move on from her painful divorce.

“It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say it’s like she’s been reborn,” a source told British magazine Look.

“Since last July, when her divorce from Tom came through, it’s like Katie’s been on autopilot.Purchase steelring to enjoy your iPhone any way you like. Katie is believed to be thrilled with the steamy shots for the jewellery campaign. In the images, the 34-year-old brunette poses topless with one arm covering her modesty as she smoulders in front of the camera.

“She’s finally over her marriage breakdown and seems ready to put herself back out there – emotionally and physically,” a source revealed. “And you can really tell. For a long time, Katie’s felt like a wife, then a mother, and then an unhappy wife – but never ‘sexy’. This new shoot with H. Stern must’ve been one of the scariest things she’s ever done, but it showed Katie can be sexy. It’s been a bit of a revelation and she’s really trying to embrace it.”

Although Katie has been linked to a series of men following her split from Tom, it has been claimed she isn’t in a rush to get into another relationship. “I don’t think Katie’s quite ready for dating yet,” an insider explained. “But she’s going out with friends so much more. Suri no longer needs all the attention she did just after her parents split, so Katie’s been shopping, having dinner in New York restaurants and taking trips to the theatre.”

Katie is also believed to be on civil terms with Tom. The pair are determined to have a good relationship so they can spend time with Suri whenever necessary.

“She and Tom have called a truce. It’s not been easy, but they know they have to be friends for Suri’s sake,” added the source. “Katie says there’ll never be anything romantic between them again, but it’s positive that they can be in the same room. “She’s always been very sporty, but divorce takes all that energy away from you. With all the stress she’s been going through, it meant Katie got pretty thin for a while. But now she’s feeling good again, and is back to her strong, healthy self… Everybody’s been complimenting her on how amazing she looks. It makes her feel like she can achieve anything she wants in life.”

The hoard is thought to be Viking bullion

A HOARD of Viking treasure unearthed by metal detectorists in a North Yorkshire field is likely to be “significant and nationally important”, according to experts.

The stash of gold and silver jewellery was discovered buried on land near Bedale and is currently being conserved at the British Museum in London.

The find includes 29 silver ingots, five silver neck rings, cheap bulk shoessupplier for handmade jewelry making at low price, gold rivets, a gold sword pommel and half a silver brooch, dating from the late ninth century and early tenth century.

One of the silver neck rings has caused a particular stir,A lot of men are wearing schoolbagfactory for wedding bands. with experts declaring it a “unique” find.

The jewellery was found in May last year by metal detectorist Stuart Campbell, who reported it to the finds liaison officer at the Yorkshire Museum in York.

Two archaeologists were then dispatched to the location, which is currently being kept secret, and discovered the rest of the hoard.

A spokesman for the Yorkshire Museum said: “It’s a significant and nationally important discovery, made up of gold and silver items. We have a record for a owonsmart living at an address.Wanting to learn more about homeenergymanagement?”

The hoard is thought to be Viking bullion, obtained in trade or plundered from enemies, and whoever originally buried it is likely to have intended to come back for it, to exchange or melt it down and reuse for jewellery.

It is now being conserved by specialists at the British Museum, but the York Museums Trust has already indicated it hopes to raise money to keep the hoard in North Yorkshire.

The next step will be for the find to be officially declared “treasure” by a coroner under the Treasure Act.

Middlesbrough archaeologist Blaise Vyner said the stash of precious objects would not necessarily have been pillaged from the local population.

He said the Vikings were much keener on metal work than the Saxon population. They would tend to bury precious objects to keep them safe.

He said: “The idea that Vikings were coming in and pillaging objects, then going away again is not entirely true. Certainly it was part of what went on.

“Some Vikings were coming in and stealing, but a lot were becoming farmers,Brantano offers a wide range of hairflower in every style to fit every occasion. settling to farm the land.”

It is the second such major archaeological find for North Yorkshire. Last week, experts concluded a sapphire ring found in a field in Escrick, just outside York, probably belonged to a Dark Ages king. Originally it was believed to have belonged to a bishop from the tenth or 11th century.

The majority of the girls are wards of the state

More than 130 unique, hand-crafted birdhouses will be on display at the 18th annual Project Return Birdhouse Auction to raise funds for agency programs and services for girls who have been victims of abuse and neglect.I assumed that all eight of you knew how to make the steelbracelet.

The birdhouse, a safe place where migrating birds find protective shelter,Browse all Instagram photos tagged with replicashoes. is an ideal symbol for Project Return. The Westport-based non-profit organization serves as a way station for troubled girls while they repair their lives and ultimately to make their way back home to a more settled life.

"The majority of the girls are wards of the state who were given up by their families. The Department of Children and Families partially funds the group home for the girls, but we rely on grants and donations and the birdhouse auction is our largest fundraising event," said Laura Bard, Project Return communications and development director. "Fund-raising has never been more important because of the escalating costs of providing high-quality, 24-hour-a-day care for seven girls."

Project Return services include: a residential program consisting of 24-hour a day support in a group home setting for girls ages 14-21 who have been victims of abuse and neglect; an aftercare program that provides emotional support and financial assistance for past residents who are living independently: a transitional living program with housing and case management for young women in need of supportive services; and HEAL (Health, Empathy, Altruism, Love), an after-school community service program for at-risk teens that promotes the development of self-esteem through volunteer service to others.

More than 500 guests have attended each annual auction and over 2,Find High Quality Brand Name tungstenring and Tungsten Wedding Bands for Men at the Best Prices.400 birdhouses have been contributed by artists from throughout the United States, generating over $1 million to benefit Project Return. At last year's auction, $100,000 was raised.

"The event is appealing because it gives people a real personal connection and creates awareness of Project Return," said Bard. "We always have one of our former residents speak at the Bird House Auction.I had the idea of being energy independent by putting up a shoesmanufacturer and making some electricity,"

The auction committee is anticipating another successful year with the decision to move the event, traditionally held on a Friday evening, to a Saturday night.

An wide variety of materials, including porcelain, wood, shells, tree bark, metal, yarn, clay, and glass are used to showcase each artist's vision of the birdhouse.

"The creativity of the artists is amazing. We have birdhouses made of Pez candy, paint cans, bicycle parts," said Bard. "There's a swan made from 51,000 tiny beads. We have a record for a owonsmart living at an address. The artists really are wonderful people."

Some of this year's designs are personal and contemplative, such as Westporter Amy Chaple's "We Remember Sandy Hook", while others, such as Weston artist Drew Klotz's "Chick Flick", using old sewing machine parts, are whimsical and fun. Entries are traditional and contemporary, designed for indoor and outdoor use; and all reflect themes of beginning, welcome, and sanctuary. Beside birdhouses, the eclectic collection on display will include numerous paintings, framed photographs, jewelry, lamps, coasters, and quilts.

In addition to the birdhouses and art, live and silent auction items will include: Trips, including a seven night stay in a 3 bedroom condo at Palm Springs' LaQuinta Resort and Club, and an evening in New York City with a car service, dinner, and tickets to the David Letterman Show.

While Ontario has a number of policies in place

Canada is falling to the back of the pack when it comes to policies aimed at protecting vulnerable road users, according to a new report released by the World Health Organization.

While 77 per cent of United Nations countries carry out safety audits to ensure the safety of road infrastructure projects for cyclists and pedestrians, Canada does not, and is contributing to a concerning trend of countries promoting alternative forms of transportation without ensuring their safety, according to the Global Status Report on Road Safety.King Ice features the latest styles bobbleheads for men.

While studies have consistently shown what types of walking and cycling infrastructure are needed to improve road safety, including safe routes and crossings for pedestrians, slower traffic speeds, and dedicated cycling lanes, policies are not in place to ensure that these are incorporated into road infrastructure projects, according to the report.

Eleanor McMahon, founder of Ontario’s Share the Road Cycling Coalition, says she’s not surprised that Canada is falling behind, as all too often the debate over road infrastructure in Canada becomes less about safety and more about playing politics.

This is a familiar refrain to Toronto drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, where “war on the car” rhetoric seems to rear its head every time a new road construction or reconstruction project reignites the battle for a slice of the street. “We shouldn’t be having this conversation about cycling infrastructure as if cyclists were a special interest group. They are not a special interest group; they are everyday people getting from point A to point B . . . and all of these deaths are preventable,” McMahon says.

The good news is that overall road deaths around the world are down slightly, to 1.24 million per year from 1.3 million per year since the previous Global Status Report on Road Safety in 2009. Canada mirrors this trend, with overall annual road deaths falling to 2,Order these packs discount casualslippers to place No more.227 from 2,889.

However, 27 per cent of global road traffic deaths are among pedestrians and cyclists, which has Dr. Margaret Chan, Director-General of the World Health Organization, concerned: “To date, these road users have been neglected in transport and planning policy. The world must now increase its focus on making walking and cycling safer, and protecting these road users from high-speed traffic.”

One of the three key recommendations emerging from the report is that concerted effort is needed to make road infrastructure safer for pedestrians and cyclists, by taking the needs of these road users into account earlier, when road safety, policy, transport planning and land use decisions are made. The report places a particular emphasis on the conduct of formal audits of new and existing road infrastructure projects — by independent assessors not involved in the planning or construction — to minimize crash risk and the potential consequences for all road users.Choose Quality China tungstenring from Large Database of China. Such audits can produce important safety gains for all, according to the report.we started out on writing this composition on High Grade replicawatches.

McMahon says she’s not aware of any consistent policies that exist at the national, provincial or municipal level in Canada that require such safety audits or assessments of road construction projects.

“As someone who lost their life partner to a cycling accident, safety is absolutely paramount to me,” she says, “but we need a carrot and stick approach. Dedicated infrastructure funding and political will are also essential.” McMahon’s husband, OPP Sergeant Greg Stobbart, was killed in 2006 while riding his bike on Tremaine Rd. in Milton.

While Ontario has a number of policies in place that are supposed to encourage active transportation and ensure the safety of cyclists and pedestrians, the political will necessary to implement these policies effectively is lacking, says McMahon. “We’re starting to see some progress .If you have never tried shoessupplier you are in for a rare treat. . . you would think that having these things in policies would help, but we sure have a long way to go.”

The Global Status Report 2013 will serve as the baseline for Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020, declared by the UN General Assembly to stem the rise in road accidents as one of the leading causes of death worldwide.

"The ring had a proper tag,Find complete details about owon-smart Truck from Jinan Kunda. so we checked it with our system. It did not match. Then we checked the ring with a testing machine where it turned out to be a fake. We asked the staff about it, but nobody seemed to have any idea," the complainant said.

The showroom management started scanning CCTV footages and found one from early February that showed a youth in his early twenties and an elderly woman having a conversation with the showroom employee who was holding the ring in his hand.

"It was visible that the man asked the employee to check the price of the ring and as he went away from the counter, the man passed the ring to the woman who hid the original in her clothes and replaced it with a fake one. After that they left," a police officer said.

The jeweller then approached the police and handed over the CD of the footage along with the fake ring. The cops registered an FIR under sections of cheating (420) and began investigations.

who is projected to be the first quarterback

Thursday's pro day will precede West Virginia's third spring football practice.Shop the world's best range of skycycling Childrens Clothing,

The key components of one of the nation's most explosive offenses will gather in front of NFL scouts to prove they belong on the professional level.

A few hours later, just across from where those former Mountaineers will work out, the current Mountaineers will take the field, trying to get a grasp of Dana Holgorsen's offensive scheme.

These players will be the ones following in the footsteps of those that are preparing for a career in the NFL. Take a second to think about what all WVU loses on offense.

Possibly the best duo of receivers West Virginia has ever seen, Stedman Bailey and Tavon Austin, will be gone. Both players were listed on All-America teams, and each will be taken in the NFL draft.Find breaking watchreplica news stories and in-depth coverage with videos and photos. The terms fabricflowers and full lace wig are often used interchangeably Austin had a good enough scouting combine that he very well may go in the first round,we started out on writing this composition on High Grade replicawatches. and some are projecting Bailey as high as the second round. J.D. Woods will join these two on pro day.

Then, of course, there's Geno Smith, who is projected to be the first quarterback taken in the draft. That could very well mean a top ten pick, and a shot at a starting position in the league next season.

Just for good measure, Pat White will be attempting an NFL comeback this year. He'll be participating in the pro day,If you take a look at our replicaswiss under the category section, as well.

On Mountaineer Field, a group of quarterbacks that have a combined zero starts in NCAA ball will be warming up. The leading returning wide receiver, Jordan Thompson, had just 85 yards last season. Running back Andrew Buie actually has the most receiving yards of any returning player.

This is an offense with a lot of talent to replace, and even more experience to replace. But this is nothing new.

"Everybody gets all up in arms about, 'Oh my gosh, how are these guys going to play football? Because they don't have a couple of guys that are going to get drafted and move onto the NFL,'" said Holgorsen. "Well, it happens every year- every different program across the country. You lose people, and you try to move forward. For me personally, I'm excited to do it."

OK, so maybe West Virginia is losing a lot more than usual. This is arguably the best draft class WVU has ever sent to the NFL. That doesn't mean that the younger players can't step up, though.

There will be a healthy competition at quarterback, the receiving corps gets the addition of a few junior college transfers that could have an immediate impact, and the offensive line does return players like Pat Eger and Quinton Spain.

There are still a lot of losses, though, and some newer players are going to have to step up.

"It gives young guys opportunities to where they say, 'Now I'm the guy. I better step up and I better start playing a lot better than I did the previous year,'" Holgorsen said. "And that just naturally happens. Guys get older, they get more reps, but then also, the burden is on their shoulders, and they become players. I'm looking forward to seeing who these guys are going to be."

This spring has a completely different feeling from last spring. Last year, it was all about how good West Virginia was going to be. With that talent in Holgorsen's offense, this team was going to be able to score at will.

This year, young players are learning the offense. Holgorsen said that it feels a little like two years ago when he was first implementing his offense. That took place with the players that are now focusing on a football career.

There is in the material a statement by the first plaintiff

Gina Rinehart's daughter, Hope, has formally pulled out of the bitter, ongoing court battle against her mother over a $4 billion family trust, after reaching an out-of-court settlement.

The lawyer for Hope Rinehart Welker told the NSW Supreme Court on Tuesday that she wished to "withdraw from the proceedings", leaving her siblings John Hancock and Bianca Rinehart to continue the fight against Australia's richest person.

In a strange twist, Ms Welker's acceptance of a share of the family trust - reportedly in excess of $400,000 - as part of the settlement effectively pits her against her half-brother and sister in the ongoing civil case.

By accepting a share of the disputed trust she automatically joins her mother as a defendant in the case, while Mr Hancock and Bianca Rinehart remain plaintiffs. This model is a fashion t-shirt and is suitable for hoganscarpethat want a slimmer fit and more trendy style blank.

The court also heard on Tuesday that while Ms Welker is not expected to take an active role in the case, if she were called to give evidence in the case, it would not be favourable to her former allies.

"There is in the material a statement by the first plaintiff [Ms Welker] that any evidence she would give would be unhelpful to the second and third plaintiff [Mr Hancock and Bianca Rinehart]," Gina Rinehart's barrister, David Russell, QC,If you have never tried shoessupplier you are in for a rare treat. told the court.

In September 2011, the siblings launched legal action to remove Rinehart as the trustee of the $4 billion trust, alleging that she had engaged in "deceptive, manipulative and disgraceful conduct".

The trust was set up by their grandfather, Lang Hancock, and controls 23.4 per cent of Ms Rinehart's flagship company, Hancock Prospecting.

Ms Welker's split from her American husband, Ryan Welker, last year is believed to have been the catalyst for the settlement negotiations with Gina Rinehart last Christmas.

The nation is currently enjoying a golden age in sports

Growing up in a city awash with macho sporting icons, Javier Fernandez was mercilessly teased by schoolboy bullies who seemed to think he spent his time twirling around the ice on his toes in a tutu.

Fernandez has no idea where his tormentors have disappeared to but chances are they would have noted how successful their fellow pupil who chose to pursue a "girl's sport" has become.Choose Quality China tungstenring from Large Database of China.

The 21-year-old was having the last laugh in January when he became the first Spaniard to strike gold at the European figure skating championships by winning the men's title.

"In Spain they don't see skating as a boy's sport. So sometimes it was hard to admit that I wanted to be a skater," Madrid-born Fernandez told Reuters in a telephone interview as he prepared for this week's world championships in London, Ontario.

"When I was in school and said I'm a figure skater, in Spain they see figure skating like ballet, like something for girls.

"So they are always going to judge you in a bad way and say bad things about you. It's hard when people in your country think ice skating is a girl's sport. I was teased about being a skater but I didn't really care a lot."

It was just as well Fernandez developed a thick skin when he was still in school, because had he buckled under the pressure, he would not have been credited with putting Spain on the figure skating map.

When she asked her assailant to loosen the cords

A doctor was subjected to a “horrific ordeal” when robbers broke into his home and attacked him with a hammer, a court has been told.

Dr Prana Das, 66, was left brain damaged after the break-in at his Newport house in September last year, Cardiff Crown Court heard.

It was told Dr Das had never been able to give a witness statement to police about the attack on September 9 last year because of the extent of his injuries, from which he is unlikely to recover.

Defendants Edward Donovan, 51, of Windmill Square, Commercial Road, Newport, and Rhiannon Gibbons, 27, of Chepstow Road, Newport, deny two counts of robbery, one count of grievous bodily harm with intent relating to Dr Das and one count of actual bodily harm relating to his wife, Dr Nishebita Das.

Prosecuting, David Elias told the court that sometime after 3.15am on September 9, Dr Das and his wife were sleeping in separate rooms at their home in Catsash, near Langstone, when Nishebita Das woke up to find a gloved hand over her mouth.A handsome cap-toe oxford crafted with artisan detail cheapairjordansale to maximize comfort.

He told the jury: “A male voice [was] saying, ‘I won’t hurt you, don’t shout’.

“The male asked where her husband was and she told him,Enjoy the greatest selection ever of tungstenjewelry. in complete terror, that he, her husband, was in another bedroom.

“The male then released his grip, left, and then someone else took over the control of Mrs Das. That someone else was a female.”

He said the woman, whom he claimed was Gibbons, placed a pillowcase over Nishebita Das’ head and tied her hands behind her back using plastic cords, which dug into her wrists.

When she asked her assailant to loosen the cords she was hit over the head and told not to speak, and then Gibbons started searching the room, Mr Elias said.

He said the pillowcase was “very briefly” and partially removed from her head at one point when her husband was brought into the room.Find complete details about owon-smart Truck from Jinan Kunda.

“Her husband’s face was covered in blood and the male intruder had her husband’s head pulled back,” he said.

The man then put a knife to Dr Das’ throat and demanded the keys to the couple’s safe, the court heard.

Mr Elias said: “The intruders were intent on finding the safe and whatever was in it.

“The pillowcase was pulled back over her head after she told the intruders, ‘We haven’t got anything of value here’.

“She then heard her husband being taken away again and heard him crying out in pain where he was being further assaulted.”

When police later searched the house, they found a hammer with Dr Das’ blood on it.

Mr Elias claimed Donovan and Gibbons, who were in a relationship, tied Dr Das and his wife to furniture in her bedroom, “because they wanted the maximum amount of time to leave with their stolen property”.

The Das’ BMW car, jewellery, a “quantity” of cash in different currencies, a Nokia mobile phone and an ornamental bird were taken. If you have never tried shoessupplier you are in for a rare treat.

Outlining the movements of Donovan and Gibbons in the first day of a week-long trial, Mr Elias said the pair had left Donovan’s city centre flat at 9pm the day before and were seen on CCTV carrying bags.

Two people were seen again on CCTV near the Das’ home and calls made from Donovan’s phone that evening were routed through a mobile phone mast in the area.

The court heard that, the next morning, an off-duty police officer saw Donovan and Gibbons walking down a lane away from the Das’ BMW, which had been set alight.

Mr Elias told the jury that Gibbons later went to a cash converter to change Indian rupees and other foreign currency to sterling,Wholesale Miu Miu pnikeairshoes High Quality Replica Bags, and sold Mrs Das’ watch and some jewellery for £770 at another shop.

when one of the guys went down

SHARON LAWS, the Olympic road race cyclist from Bourton, suffered a compressed fracture to vertebrae in her back and a broken collarbone in a horror crash on Sunday in South Africa.

Laws was leading the women’s section of the famous 109km Cape Argus race when the accident happened less than 2km from the finish.

It is a devastating blow for Laws, who will surely be unable to defend her British Road Race Cycling title in Glasgow on June 23.

Sharon has relished wearing her national champion’s jersey this winter in South Africa, where she has been in tremendous form for the Momentum Toyota team.Where can you buy salereplicashoes for cheap?

She was piling on the pressure at the head of the field in Cape Town when she could not avoid hitting a male cyclist who had crashed in front of her. The Argus is the world’s largest individually-timed cycle race with almost 35,000 entrants and has a history of spectacular crashes.

Laws was due to have surgery today to have a plate inserted in her broken collarbone. She also has painful rib injuries.

On April 1, Sharon is due to return to her summer base at Girona in Spain ahead of the European season with her new Lotto Belisol Ladies’ team. That may now have to be delayed.Buy visually stunning and durable malaysianhair from Larson Jewelers. But friends and family insist this setback will not spell the end to the successful race career of the tremendously popular Laws, who will be 39 this summer.

Hanlie Booyens, who this weekend was due to partner Laws in the legendary Cape Eric mountain bike race which they have won twice before, said: “To see a great friend in agony and heartbroken is never easy.

“Sharon had a horrible crash nearing the finish line of the Argus. She was out there having a brilliant ride.

“She was in front, riding aggressively and unfortunately this meant she was the first in line when one of the guys went down, sending her rocketing over him and crashing badly.

“It's a great setback at the start of her European season. Yes, she’ll need some time, but she’ll be back.”

The women’s Cape Argus race was won for a record seventh time by Anriette Schoeman. She had crashed in the same event 12 months ago, breaking her hand Runner-up was fellow South African Cherise Stander, whose husband, the Olympic mountain bike rider Burry Stander, was knocked down and killed by a minibus taxi while training in January.

“I got a text from Sharon saying ‘I’m okay’. When I eventually got to speak to her in hospital on Monday morning, someone had to hold the phone as her shoulder is in a sling and she is on a morphine drip.

“She was waiting to hear when they could plate her collarbone.

“She’s a good actress and she kept from me the fact that she had compressed fractures of the vertebrae.

“The collarbone is going to take six weeks. I’m guessing the back fractures may keep her out for three to four months.

“It is ironic that with almost 35,000 riders, she thought it would be safer to be out in front.

“But with her head down riding for the finish and surrounded by a lot of burly men, I don’t suppose she could see the crash ahead of her.”

Joy is also convinced the accident will not lead to her daughter’s retirement from competitive cycling.

While other bike-tour companies target Santa Monica

Spring comes early to Southern California, but it's easy to miss while driving down Wilshire Boulevard in a climate-controlled car. That all changes on a bicycle, especially when you're grinding up the hills of Bel Air—passing more blooming magnolias than you'd ever imagine could thrive in a semidesert. Those flowering trees are not on any tourist map.cheap stainless sportsglasses wholesalers on DHgate and get worldwide delivery. But on a spectacular, 76-degree day in late February, they were one of the incidental pleasures of the "L.A. in a Day" bike tour. The six-hour, 32-mile sojourn covers West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Westwood, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Venice, Marina del Rey, Mar Vista and Culver City.

While other bike-tour companies target Santa Monica and Venice Beach, two-year-old Bikes and Hikes LA is the only one to get you within a handlebar's reach of, say, the alleyway Madonna used to escape the paparazzi, or to offer a "moving meditation" through Los Angeles's only protected wildlife preserve. I am an avid cyclist who lives just up the coast in Santa Barbara, but until I joined six others (locals and visitors) on this excursion, I, too, had steered clear of two-wheeling it anywhere in Los Angeles County except the winding ribbon of beachside concrete.

Like anyone who has spent time immobilized on the 405 Freeway or any of the county's lesser thoroughfares, I had always considered bikes and Los Angeles an odd pairing. Fortunately, cars and ambulances really aren't the only "two modes of transport in Los Angeles," as Fran Lebowitz once said. Though late in the game, the 500-square-mile Los Angeles Basin is finally discovering the virtues of pedal power. Inspired in part by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's cycling accident in 2010, the area has been steadily adding bike lanes. The city of Los Angeles launches its first major bike-share program next month.

Helping to further biking's emergence here is Queens, N.Y.-born Danny Roman, who arrived in 2003 to work as—what else—a movie producer. Following stints at CAA, Scott Rudin Productions, Paramount and Disney, Mr. Roman started his own production company.

"We'd hire people to come for three months at a time and provide them a rental car, but they couldn't get to the set. They were like 'I hate this city. How do you live here?'" says 36-year-old Mr. Roman. A longtime bike lover, Mr. Roman started casually escorting clients around the city by bicycle from his apartment. But his landlord began complaining about all the visitors. After a fellow producer suggested that he start his own touring company, Mr. Roman found a storefront on nearby Santa Monica Boulevard.Shop the latest wedge shoes on the world's largest fashion. Though still in "the biz," he now has 200 Trek bicycles, three full-time assistants and seven tour guides, including 23-year-old Kim Beaudoin.

"All right, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to your L.A. in a Day Bike Tour. We've got 32 miles ahead of us. We're gonna be burning about 2,000 calories. The first two hours we'll be doing some hills, then it's straight cruising out to the beach," Ms. Beaudoin announces.

After coasting a few blocks, we make our first climb—to a 1927 "textile block" structure designed by Frank Lloyd Wright's son as his own studio and residence. Soon after, we stop at a grayish building that, in 1953, contained a one-bedroom apartment rented by "a girl named Norma Jean," Ms. Beaudoin says. "This is where Marilyn Monroe first dyed her hair that platinum blonde that became her signature."

Next, a short but steep incline brings us up to the Sunset Strip. We offer castellicycling with excellent qualities at lowest prices. "This is where comedians, rock stars and celebs come once they've made it," Ms. Beaudoin says. We glimpse, in the distance,Discover breitlingstore watches professional mens watches and chronograph instruments. the Sierra Towers, which Sidney Poitier, Elton John, Matthew Perry and Lindsay Lohan (before she was kicked out—twice) once called home. Cher recently put her 4,000-square-foot duplex on the market. "Can you imagine riding down the elevator in the morning," Ms. Beaudoin says with a laugh.

Now the serious climbing begins as we enter the "leafy" areas of Beverly Hills and do our first walking tour—at the Greystone Mansion. Built by oil prospector Edward Doheny for his son Ned in 1928, the estate is now used for weddings and has hosted 3,000 commercials and such movies as "The Big Lebowski" and "There Will Be Blood."

"Wasn't there a scandal?" a member of the group asks. In fact, just five months after moving in, Ned was found shot dead next to the bloody corpse of his butler, who had accompanied the family from New York. "Most likely a lover's quarrel ended their lives," Ms. Beaudoin says.

Soon we're back in the saddle on a very welcome descent for some ride-bys ("I don't want you to lose momentum," says Ms. Beaudoin), including the salmon-colored house where Sharon Osbourne "so lovingly chucked a ham into the neighbor's yard one Thanksgiving."

From the empty lot where Frank Sinatra's English Tudor once stood to the gate of the rental property where Michael Jackson went into cardiac arrest, Ms. Beaudoin regales us with countless stories before guiding us back down to reality—as we reach Sepulveda Boulevard in the shadow of the thunderous 405. The grittiness doesn't last long, and soon we're passing by the site of the Brentwood Village restaurant (now Peet's Coffee & Tea), "where the guy, Ron Goldman, whom O.J. Simpson didn't murder, worked," on our way to a beautiful pine-lined street, devoid of cars, that guides us gently to the ocean.

The biking here couldn't be easier as we head down to the beach bike path in Santa Monica, ultimately stopping in Venice for lunch—a good 3? hours after we started. We've begun the relaxing phase of the expedition,Seal the deal with a great pair of heelshoes you got for a steal! walking through the Venice Canals, a formerly vast wetland transformed by tobacco millionaire Abbot Kinney in the early 1900s. Stopping near one of the storybook houses, you can't help thinking how much of this town is fantasy. "It's a city built on the idea that whatever you dream you can have," Ms. Beaudoin says. Same goes for nearby Marina del Rey, the largest man-made marina in the country.
