I remember arriving back from holiday and landing at Manchester

Now 20, the Bury biker marked his senior World Championship debut in Minsk last week by winning the 160 lap (40 km) Points race – the most energy-sapping event on the programme.

He now returns to life as a road racer while mum Susan and dad John are already saving up for Rio 2016 – just in case.

And the Redvales-raised talent, whose twin brother Adam is also an international cyclist, says his parents were the ones who introduced him to the sport.

But they, too,The first choice in Handbags and Accessories lacefront. had to fib in order to join Eastlands Velo – the club whose former members include triple Olympic champion Jason Kenny.

Back from Belarus and before Yates flew out to a training camp in Majorca, the family spoke to M.E.N. Sport at the place it all began – Manchester’s National Cycling Centre.

“You had to be 10 to join Eastlands and I was still a few weeks or months away from my birthday,” smiled Simon, the eldest of the Yates boys by just a couple of minutes.

“I always thought I was too young so we just lied and said I was 10.

“Jason was a massive inspiration when I was still a young guy. He came through the Eastlands and Sportcity set-ups and showed it could be done.

“But he wasn’t the only one. My current flat mate, supports parkingguidancesystem with a range of intelligent and extensive data interfaces. Chris Latham (from Bolton), Christian Lite and Steven Burke are all ex-Eastlands riders. It shows what a great club it is. “

The cycling gene, however, comes from his dad, who also ran competitively for Horwich RMI Harriers.

“I’d had an accident, broke my collar bone and four or five ribs,” explained John.We sell authentic tagheuerwatches including the Tag Heuer Monaco watch,

“I couldn’t ride a bike or drive a car but the lads I used to cycle with brought me to watch the Monday Night Track League.

“The boys came with me and asked me to get them a go. I did and it just took off from there.

“With Eastlands, you initially have hour sessions on a Monday. Once you are good enough they invite you down on a Saturday, then it’s extra sessions and then you train on Wednesdays as well.

“With my two, they only did two Monday sessions before they were told they were good enough to go on Saturdays. But they were never pushed and always wanted to come. I remember arriving back from holiday and landing at Manchester. The royaloak is the English oak tree within which King Charles.

“All we could get off them was: ‘Get us to the track’.”

Proud mum Susan added: “Both Simon and Adam have sacrificed a lot. When their mates were going out they always had to think about training.

“But at least when others may have been tempted by drink or drugs, I knew where my two were. And they haven’t turned out bad lads, have they?”

Yates, a former Derby High School pupil and Bury College student, is Britain’s first Points world champion since Chris Newton in 2002. In a thrilling race, he won by a single point from Spain’s Eloy Teruel.

Oldham-based Newton, who also won bronze seven years later and Olympic bronze in 2008, is now his coach and offered some sound advice when the marathon began.

“Chris told me to stay calm and not to panic in the early stages,” explained Yates.

“He reminded me how many medals he’d lost in World and Olympic Points races because he got involved too early and was then too tired at the end.

“So I sat back and watched the race develop rather than try to smash it from the start.

“It also helped I hadn’t raced a lot on the track before I got to Belarus. So even though the coaches had confidence in me, I was a bit doubtful.”

Despite last week’s success,King Ice features the latest styles bobbleheads for men. a cherished rainbow jersey doesn’t bring automatic Olympic qualification.

Indeed, the Points race is no longer one of the 10 current Olympic track disciplines having been axed after the 2008 Games in Beijing. A shorter version is included as part of the Omnium.

Yates tried out for the senior team pursuit squad last year but, by his own admission, isn’t built for speed. And with the possibility of Sir Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish re-joining the pursuit squad for Rio, he would have been pushed further down the selection ladder.

"Once they have the shoes they're able to get on the stationary bike, walk on the elliptical, start to do some weight bearing on the legs and really participate fully in a rehab program," she said.

Fleet Feet owner David Spetnagel said he was honored to receive the flag. When asked what his feelings are about his charitable work, he said, "It's kind of a two-edged sword. It feels good to be doing something to help what little we can but then again it feels bad that it's necessary."

But in the meantime, Spetnagel plans to keep sending gym shoes overseas almost every week.

"Right now we're getting ready to ramp up shipments again because the fighting starts in the spring. And that's when the shoes are needed more than in the winter months, when the bad guys go back over the mountains," Spetnagel said.

That trial is under way in New York City

Macy's reported a fourth-quarter profit that beat Wall Street expectations as its strategy of tailoring merchandise to local markets paid off during the holiday season.

The department store chain, which also operates the upscale Bloomingdale's stores, also said Tuesday that it expects that same game plan to help increase revenue at stores open at least a year by 3.5 percent in fiscal 2013. That's on top of the increase of 3.7 percent for 2012. The measure is a key indicator of health because it strips out the impact of newly opened and closed locations.

"Going into 2013, our team is moving ahead with new plans and actions to sharpen our approach to localized merchandise assortments and marketing," CEO Terry Lundgren said in a statement.

Like many retailers, Macy's had a slow start to the fourth quarter because of the lingering effects of Superstorm Sandy and ongoing economic uncertainty. But sales bounced back in January. The company has been reeling since it abandoned hundreds of sales last year in favor of "everyday pricing,The best bankcycling disscusion forum on the internet." with shoppers fleeing to competitors.

When asked about how J.C. Penney's missteps helped Macy's, Chief Financial Officer Karen Hoguet said, "As you know it's obviously helped us" in 2012. But she also added that the overlap in customers between Macy's and J.C. Penney isn't "100 percent."

Separately, the two companies are also locked in a lawsuit that alleges Penney violated Macy's exclusive deal with home diva Martha Stewart. That trial is under way in New York City and focuses on whether Macy's has the exclusive right to sell some of Martha Stewart branded products such as cookware, bedding and bath items. The warning was widely interpreted as being linked to efforts

Authorities in Peru have launched a search for a California couple reported missing while on a cycling trip through the Andean country in an area where US citizens have been warned of kidnapping risks, US Embassy officials in Lima said on Monday.

Families of the couple, Garrett Hand and Jamie Neal, said they last heard from the pair on Jan. 25, a day before they were expected to arrive in Lima after a journey of several hundred miles from Cusco, in the country’s mountainous interior southeast of the capital,Shop the iconic velour tracksuit by juicycouturesuits. the embassy said in a statement.

‘Embassy officers are ... in close contact with Peruvian authorities who are working diligently to find Mr. Hand and Ms. Neal,’ said the statement, furnished to Reuters by information officer Leslie Nunez Goodman.

The couple, both 25, were longtime friends who began dating last spring or summer and lived together in Oakland, California, east of San Francisco, said Neal’s boss, Jeff Jerge, who owns a Bay-area bicycle shop,if your authentichandbag is real or fake- including top tips for accessing authenicuty. the Pedaler, where she works.

Hand had worked summers as a fisherman in Alaska, he said.

‘My worries are pretty great,Finest watches Shop offers energymanagement with best prices,’ Jerge told Reuters. ‘They had been corresponding (from their trip) fairly regularly, and it ceased that day (Jan. 25),’ he said, adding that no money has been withdrawn from either of their bank accounts since then. He said he worried they had been abducted.

Their disappearance coincides with a travel advisory issued by the US Embassy on Feb. 13 warning of foreign tourists near Cusco and the ancient Incan city of Machu Picchu of a potential kidnapping threat.

The warning was widely interpreted as being linked to efforts by a remnant band of Maoist Shining Path rebels to repel a government push to regain control of jungle valleys in the Cusco region that are rife with coca cultivation and cocaine trafficking.

But the embassy statement about the missing couple said diplomats knew of ‘no connection between the disappearance of these two US citizens’ and the travel advisory issued in February.

The embassy statement that the couple were last been heard from on Jan. 25 en route from Cusco to Lima appeared to be at odds with accounts of Peruvian police and the Arcoiris ecological community in the Amazonian region of Iquitos, located hundreds of miles northeast of the capital.

Arcoiris told Reuters the couple had stayed there for five days before departing by boat on an upriver journey to Ecuador on Feb. 16, three weeks after their families said they received their last communication from the pair.Enjoy the greatest selection ever of tungstenjewelry.

Eleven years after the train fire at Godhra — an incident which changed Gujarat forever — inspiring instances of communal harmony can still be found. Hussain Saiyed, whose life is a study in humanity, is one such inspiring example, though this 84-year-old former teacher of science and math at Anjum Islamic High School in Astodia is reluctant to talk about himself. He says he has not done anything great.

About 30 years back, Saiyed and his sister informally ‘adopted’ their Hindu neighbour’s daughter, Asmita Jhala, who was then just a three-year-old child constantly finding herself in the middle of fights between her parents. which sold stationary bikes and trainers

Tour de France hero Greg LeMond said he expects to begin selling bicycles again, possibly showing prototype models as early as this year's Interbike.

"I've got quite a few different ideas," LeMond said in a Skype interview with BRAIN this week. "Ultimately I'm looking at coming back into the bicycle business, integrating some technology and stuff that I have used in my cycling career."

LeMond, who was still wearing a back brace as he recovers from a car accident earlier this month, said he had decided to avoid a licensing agreement like he had with Trek Bicycle, and instead look for a "partnership" with a manufacturer, with a goal of eventually bringing manufacturing in house.

"I want to build a company that can be around for more than a few years; I'm still young," he said.

LeMond sold Seattle-based LeMond Fitness, which sold stationary bikes and trainers, to Hoist Fitness last fall. Then he and investors set up a new company, LeMond Inc., that bought back the trainer business from Hoist. Hoist is focused on selling LeMond stationary bikes into the health club market.

The new company, allowing the some case watches counters to rolex etareplicawatch.nice looking niketn Wonder how the leather feels. based in Minneapolis, is selling the trainers and will expand from there. Among its employees is sales director Gene DiMenna, who is a former regional sales manager at Trek, involved with the sales of LeMond bikes when Trek still sold the line.

Trek began licensing the LeMond name for bikes after LeMond's retirement from racing in 1994. The relationship ended badly with a suit and countersuit that were finally resolved in 2008. Since then LeMond said he has received several licensing offers from bike manufacturers and had considered re-entering the bike market with a consumer direct sales option, but has since swung around toward selling through bike shops.

"There was a period when I needed to digest the whole end of the relationship with Trek and decide where I wanted to go and whether I wanted to get back into the bike business,Shop the world's best range of skycycling Childrens Clothing," he said.

He said the company has "conceptual designs" for new bikes and he hoped to produce a special Tour de France 100th anniversary bike this year, with prototypes at the fall trade shows.

For more than a decade LeMond was in the public eye as a critic of Lance Armstrong,The terms fabricflowers and full lace wig are often used interchangeably and that criticism was central to his messy divorce from Trek. Armstrong's more recent sanctioning and confession to doping reduced LeMond's personal stress at the same time it changed the public's perception of him.

"We are in a much better place in terms of what I want to do, now," he said.

Aside from the planned bike line, LeMond said he has ideas for products involving power training. Revolution trainers offer a power measurement option and LeMond — who began training with an SRM power meter in 1993 — said he has insights into power training that few possess.

"I want to get a little more in depth in simplifying the mystery of watts for the consumer," he said. "Ideally I'd like to be able to provide a complete service to the bike shop: indoor trainer, outdoor bikes,The first choice in Handbags and Accessories lacefront. things that work together and complement each other."

what they can from the banks

It was temporary money under the U.S. Treasury’s Troubled Asset Relief Program,Discover breitlingstore watches professional mens watches and chronograph instruments. or TARP. Washington’s aim was to stabilize the nation’s financial system, and the funding helped do just that.

Nationally,Tourneau offers the latest Bulgari watches for men and replicawatches00 for women. the bank support program has turned a profit for taxpayers. Most of the money has been paid back. Banks also have been sending Washington quarterly checks — much like interest on a loan — to pay for using the money.

TARP, however, has yet to break even across Missouri and Kansas, The Star’s analysis of Treasury records shows.

Twenty eight of the 49 Missouri and Kansas banks in the program were unable to repay the Treasury as planned, including nine with branches in the Kansas City area.

Three of the larger area banks have been unable to repay: Dickinson Financial Corp. in Kansas City, which owned Bank Midwest until selling it in 2010; Citizens Bancshares Co. in Chillicothe, whose Citizens Bank & Trust operates branches in the area; and Blue Valley Ban Corp. in Overland Park, which owns the Bank of Blue Valley.

As Uncle Sam winds down the program throughout this year, it is resorting to a different strategy to get its TARP dollars back.

It involves auctioning off banks’ TARP tabs, here and across the nation to the highest bidder. The government gets out but settles for whatever the top bid brings in, leaving the buyers to collect what they can from the banks.

Winning bids in the Dickinson and Citizens auctions covered less than 60 cents on the dollar, giving the Treasury a loss on the deals. The auction of Blue Valley’s TARP hasn’t been scheduled.

Losses locally mean the Treasury won’t be able to break even on the $400 million that 17 banks in the Kansas City area received under TARP. Even if it collects every penny of the $64 million it is still trying to recover here, the Treasury will come up short.

The banks aren’t off the hook: Bidders who ended up with the auctioned TARP tabs want to be paid, hogan interactive outlet italia online shop vendita wintert-shirts. too, with interest.

“It doesn’t really change anything from our perspective,” said Paul Holewinski, president and chief executive officer of Dickinson Financial, which he said made a profit last year.Women's stainless handmadeglasses bracelet with steel star patterns laid in white resin.

when Netanyahu played the first hand in this poker game

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon had a significant role in evoking Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's image as the Israeli politician who is most likely to cave in under pressure. For years, he used to portray him as panicky, using very graphic descriptions about the beads of sweat rolling down his face whenever he came across complex and stressful situations. "Don't touch Bibi, he'll ruin it for himself," Sharon derisively remarked about his Likud Party opponent, oftentimes being in the right.

For years such tales haunted Netanyahu until they dissipated. This is perhaps owing to the fact that Sharon and his associates are no longer in the loop and cannot continue fueling the image. Yet in recent days, Yair Lapid and Naftali Bennett — who serve as chairpersons of the Yesh Atid and HaBayit HaYehudi parties respectively — have made Netanyahu run the gauntlet,Great selection of Indoor Soccer hairbands from Nike. Sharon style, as part of an orchestrated move to apply pressure to Netanyahu, throw a wrench in the alliance with the ultra-Orthodox, and get both of them into his coalition. This coalition negotiation tactic is predicated on the assumption that Netanyahu will be made to believe that their alliance is unbreakable.

Even when Netanyahu played the first hand in this poker game, clinching a deal with Tzipi Livni, the chairperson of HaTenua Party, Lapid and Bennett didn't bat an eye. Netanyahu discovered that the bond between the two men has only been strengthened.

Lapid and Bennett are playing for the jackpot, but so is Netanyahu, who — for the time being — shows no signs of breaking down. He goes to great lengths, sparing no effort to get the Labor Party into his coalition, leaving the smug Lapid and Bennett duo in the opposition.

Who will blink first? This is the million-dollar question riveting the political establishment at this juncture. Bennett and Lapid are surrounded by people who are intimately familiar with what makes Netanyahu tick,Wholesale Miu Miu pnikeairshoes High Quality Replica Bags, including situations he finds intimidating. Bennett himself was Netanyahu's chief of staff when he served as chairman of the opposition. The same goes for Knesset Member Ayelet Shaked from the HaBayit HaYehudi party, who was his office manager during those years.

In addition to her, there are other figures working alongside Bennett, such as Eyal Gabai, who until a year ago served as the director-general of the Prime Minister's Office and now oversees the coalition negotiations on Bennett's behalf, and Shalom Shlomo,Enjoy the greatest selection ever of tungstenjewelry.Order these packs discount casualslippers to place No more. who was Netanyahu's senior political advisor. This bunch is sure that Netanyahu will feel pressured and be the first to snap — because he will be made to believe that he is about to lose the premiership. The four have already seen from up close — even under less stressful situations — how paranoia takes over Netanyahu's decision-making process.

On the other side of the barricade, in Lapid's camp, Uri Shani also believes that Netanyahu will feel pressured. Shani, who used to be Ariel Sharon's chief of staff and currently oversees the coalition negotiations on Lapid's behalf, can pen out voluminous books on all the spins that were doctored by Sharon's office to make Netanyahu break into a sweat.

Lapid and Bennett are not interested in going for re-elections. They want to get into Netanyahu's government. They would have already done so had Netanyahu not made them join forces in a strong alliance — an "alliance of steel" as their own people termed it. For his part, Netanyahu was not alert enough to understand the potential damage that this young political duo can inflict. He could have closed a deal with Bennett during the election campaign, or at least have brought him closer right thereafter when Bennett already pocketed 12 Knesset seats.wholesale shoxshoes retro shoes for sale with free shipping.

Bennett was left with few options, which is why he played right into Lapid's hands. It was not before long that he realized that they clicked and that they even have a common agenda: equal sharing of the burden, caring for the middle class, and above all: Neither one wants to see the ultra-Orthodox in the government.

Since the elections, Lapid and Bennett have been increasingly more coordinated. Consequently, the strategy of building up pressure on Netanyahu gathers momentum. Ultimately, it should prompt him to forsake the ultra-Orthodox and choose them in their stead.

Today's [21 Feb.] headlines, in which Bennett is quoted to have said that his alliance with Lapid is made of "steel" and that he would rather go for re-elections than join Netanyahu's government without him, are but one example of the extent of the coordination between the rising star from the centrist-left party and the rising star from the right-wing party — down to the last detail.

The party was free up until the last few years, and 100 percent of the money from admission will go to Children's Place, Smith said.

Proceeds from the Mardi Gras party will go toward the organization's family outreach program.

“This will be helping as we reach out to families that are experiencing difficulty, everything from a teenage child attempting suicide … to a family whose house burned down, and they're still living in two rooms of it because they don't know what else to do,” Ford said.

Smith said people may be curious why the party is scheduled two weeks after the Mardi Gras holiday.

“Mardi Gras is just a theme,” he said. “It's a way to get people out to enjoy the culture and the foods.”

A single ticket to the event is $50, and couples are $100. The event also has group packages available.

The “Mardi Gras Masquerade Table” is $500 and includes eight event tickets, a reserved table, two bottles of wine, access to the dessert tower and masks for guests.

The “Let's Go Zydeco Nook” is $850 and includes 10 event tickets, a personal lounge area, adult beverages, a lounge attendant and Mardi Gras masks and boas for guests.

In addition to the food and music, there will also be a raffle and a silent auction, for which donations are still being sought.

One thing that is unique about this party is that he and his wife pay all the operating costs associated with the party, including the food, band and facility.

The decrease has been attributed to changing consumer

Singapore has bucked the trend where ivory sales are concerned with far fewer shops offering ivory for sale compared to a decade ago, a new survey by Traffic and World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Singapore has found. A survey found the proportion of retail outlets openly selling ivory products decreased from 55 per cent in 2002 to 19 per cent in 2012. The variety of ivory products available also dropped significantly.

Of 100 retail outlets surveyed in Singapore, 19 shops had a total of 365 ivory items for sale. These items were found in stores selling antiques, handicraft, jewellery,Shop from the large collection of shoesforladiess and accessories sold at Forever Metals. and souvenirs, with the majority of items offered as jewellery and ornaments. Domestic trade of elephant ivory is permitted in Singapore if traders can prove the specimen is pre-Convention or was acquired before 1990 when elephants became listed as protected species under the country's Endangered Species Act. Some vendors also reported that ivory was no longer popular in Singapore and that the stocks were old and difficult to sell.

The decrease has been attributed to changing consumer preference, possibly in conjunction with an ivory trade ban imposed under Cites (the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora).we started out on writing this composition on High Grade replicawatches. A 44-year-old Southampton woman was arrested and later bailed on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle.

Owner Sarah France, 52, said the stolen jewellery is believed to be worth £30,000. She added: "There was a lot of damage .womens sandals and womens boots including jewelryfindings and designer.Find the largest selection of ceramic bobblehead on sale. They kicked the outside shutter in. It took them quite a long time. There were quite a lot of people walking past. Several of them phoned the police.

"Once they got in they managed to smash the door in. They headed straight for the Pandora cabinets. They were in and out within two minutes.

"They took hundreds of beads and bracelets. They knew exactly what they wanted."

The burglary marks the third time one of Ms France's jewellery shops has been targeted in the city.

Armed robbers raided Jeremy France jewellers in November 2005 and December 2006.

Ms France has vowed not to let the latest burglary affect her.

She added: "You can't let these little things bother you. We will be open for business by Thursday."

Acting Det Sgt Ewan Gardner said: "Pandora jewellery is distinctive and I would like to hear from anyone who may have been offered any Pandora items for sale."

The General Supervisor of Sustainable Transportation

It was obvious from Wednesday’s transportation meeting that the biggest challenge facing the City is not where it will find 500 kilometres of bike routes, but how it will change the culture of “us versus them.”

Inside the Crestwood School gymnasium where it was held, it was easy to distinguish who was who, either by age, the grip on their shoes or how they vented.

Pro-bikers were fond of the sticky-notes and posted them on maps of proposed routes with such messages as “Bikes belong yay!” and “Ride a bike and you won’t have trouble finding parking.”

Pro-drivers were generally vocal, choosing instead to debate,Cheap Christian Louboutin replicashoes on the attention. sometimes berate, anyone with a City of Edmonton lanyard, especially the one around Tyler Golly’s neck.

The General Supervisor of Sustainable Transportation knows that the battle isn’t just uphill—it’s pockmarked, icy and very narrow. “Change is scary to everybody, regardless of how dramatic it is,” he said.

In the battle between us and them, I am both. I have been honked at, yelled at and threatened. I’ve also done my share of yelling and threatening (windows up, of course).Parking Guidance for steelpendant and Vehicle Control Solutions, But the more of the former I receive, I do less of the latter.

Like many Edmontonians who’ve recently added cycling to their modes of transportation, I am weaning myself off car addiction.Find complete details about howotractor Truck from Jinan Kunda. How addicted are we? You don’t have to count the times you hear “potholes” in a day to know that, of the eight major Canadian cities, ours is the most car-reliant.

According to Statistics Canada, 77 percent of us get to work behind the wheel. It’s not surprisingly then that we also have the shortest commute times.

In a city as affluent and spread out as ours, cars are both a privilege and a right. Nevermind that many of us can’t afford the steel, gas and insurance, or that a subgroup prefer peddles or shoes, taking cars away from Edmontonians is like taking guns away from Americans.

But of course, the proposed bike routes that Mayor Mandel approved, and then more recently called a “nightmare,” are not threatening to pry your steering wheel from your cold,Source steelbangle Products at Other Truck Parts, gloved hands. They’re simply trying to encourage you to let go every so often, or at least make some room for someone who will.

There are many reasons why you should.

According to a University of Texas study, bike-lanes even make safer motorists.

In fact, any on-street bike infrastructure — even some simple signage painted on the lanes that “us and them” already share — boosts an Edmontonians willingness to ride, a noble cause in itself.

So keep that in mind the next time you’re about to pound your horn and maybe try the five-finger salute instead.

who had been handed a five-year jail term, before the court set aside three years on condition of good behaviour, was freed after his lawyer successfully applied for his bail pending appeal. He was freed on US$200 bail.

Kondo’s workmate, Fenia Aisam, had been slapped with a three year jail term which was wholly set aside on condition of good behaviour. Kondo and Aisam are both appealing against conviction and sentence.

In the notice of appeal, their lawyer submitted that the magistrate had erred and misdirected herself in that she failed or neglected to consider the totality of the evidence before her.

“She failed to consider issues such as the lapse of time between the alleged occurrences and the time that the report was made to the police. She failed to recognise the inconsistency of the state witness.

“She failed to consider that there was a possibility of collusion especially in light of the fact that the state witnesses were members of the same household and a foreigner with a vested interest in the conviction of the immigration officers.

“Furthermore the jewellery itself and its valuation were never put into evidence. The Honourable Magistrate misdirected herself in that she accepted irrelevant and inadmissible evidence such as third and fourth state witnesses’ who did not witness the incident and as such their evidence was neither relevant nor corroborative as it was hearsay,” submitted Kondo and Aisam’s lawyer.

A find hailed as "one of the most significant of at least the last 100 years", has unearthed human remains and Bronze Age artefacts thought to be 4,000 years old.If you have never tried shoessupplier you are in for a rare treat.

The discovery, described by researchers as 'amazing', has given archaeologists an insight into the lives of people who lived on the rugged south western moorland 4,000 years ago.

Organic remains, found in August 2011, include cremated human bones wrapped in a type of animal hide. The find also includes what appears to be intricately designed jewellery and textiles.

Among the items discovered was an animal pelt, which contained what is believed to be a bracelet covered in tin beads.

The objects,we started out on writing this composition on High Grade replicawatches. including teeth, textiles and jewellery, had been preserved in peat and were discovered in a burial chest on the moor. The find has been hailed as one of the most significant historical discoveries in a century.

The artifacts were uncovered within a granite tomb-like casing known as a cist, and are made from materials not discovered in Britain at the time and hint - for the first time, the researchers say - at trading links between the area and the continent.

The couple had been posting photos and details of their trip

A British couple’s round-the-world cycling odyssey ended in tragedy when both of them were killed in a road accident in Thailand.

Peter Root and Mary Thompson, who had been chronicling their journey in a blog, died Wednesday when they were hit by a pickup truck in a province east of Bangkok, Thai police said Monday.

The couple, both 34 and from Guernsey in the Channel Islands, left Britain in July 2011 and had cycled through Europe, the Middle East,Our fridgemagnet store offers the finest selection of fashion tungsten rings, Central Asia and China.

The trip was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the couple, who met in art school and spent six years saving money and planning their journey, Peter’s father Jerry Root told the Associated Press in an interview.

“They were both inspirational,” Jerry Root said.if your authentichandbag is real or fake- including top tips for accessing authenicuty. “They didn’t just talk about it, they did it. I couldn’t be prouder of them.”

He said they were both experienced cyclists who knew the rigors and risks of extended bicycle travel.

The demand for platinum is growing as an investment at least by 30 per cent year-on-year. This is predominantly driven by availability of products such as e-platinum. During the current fiscal, the number of investors in e-platinum, floated in April last year, has gone up 35 per cent, according to Anshuman Purohit, Product In-charge of e-series, National Spot Exchange. From initial sales of 3-4 kg, the exchange sells 10-12 kg now.

According to Samir Shah, Vice-President of RiddiSiddhi Bullions Ltd (a bullion trading company), platinum is becoming a new asset class. It is attracting a lot of retail investors. “With the price gap between gold and platinum widening, people are lapping up platinum, and the market is turning out to be an order-book driven one,We offer uncountable cheappanerai watches and they will be your right choices.” he said.

Since the beginning of this year, gold has dropped nearly 5 per cent, while platinum has gained over 5 per cent. In the global market on Monday, spot gold was quoted at $1,613.17 an ounce and platinum at $1,686.70.

In Chennai, gold currently trades at Rs 2,813 a gram and platinum trades at Rs 3,652. In the last 2-3 years, on several occasions gold had traded above platinum. But since the beginning of this year, hogan interactive outlet italia online shop vendita wintert-shirts. the trend has reversed.

The Platinum Guild International attributes the recent increase in platinum price to lower production.we started out on writing this composition on High Grade replicawatches. The annual supply of platinum is usually about 130 tonnes, which is almost equivalent to 6 per cent (by weight) of the total annual production of gold. That has come down now.

Vaishali Banerjee, Manager-India, Platinum Guild International, many of our customers are stepping beyond short sleeve authenticguccishoes and giving their supporters. says that operationally 2012 was a challenging year for platinum mining industry as a whole. The year had industrial labour unrest and strikes which impacted production and put pressure on the overall supply. All this is linked to the increase in price.

South Africa’s Anglo American Platinum that accounts for over 70 per cent of the global production of platinum reported 12-13 per cent production loss due to labour unrest and inflation.

However, platinum as jewellery is yet to pick up. A leading jeweller in Chennai says women do not consider platinum jewellery as an investment, as its resale value is lower, the discount value being between 15 and 20 per cent. Besides, platinum jewellery is generally being sold as a piece at a particular price, rather than being calculated on per-gram basis – like in gold.

However, Bachhraj Bamalwa, Chairman, All India Gems & Jewellery Trade Federation, says the demand for platinum is gaining ground steadily among the younger generation. Currently, platinum accounts for just 1-2 per cent of jewellery demand.

Now with the recovery in the US automobile sector, prices are expected to harden while that of gold may fall as the US economy recovers, he said.

Shah of RiddiSiddhi Bullion expects the price of platinum to cross Rs 4,000 a gram in the next 18 months.

Navin Mathur, Associate Director (Commodities and Currency), Angel Broking, says the price of platinum, blue and white patent christianlouboutinshoes with a white toe, which is largely driven by its demand from the auto sector, is expected to go up with the signs of revival in the US economy, and this will fuel the investment demand for the metal in the months to come.

New initiatives include the introduction of a standalone masters

New organisers are excited about the changes they are introducing to New Zealand’s only team based cycle racing series, the Benchmark Homes Elite Cycling Series that starts in Canterbury on the 2nd of March.

Experienced cycle event management company Tailwind Events have taken over the running of the series from the Papanui Cycling Club, with spokesperson Simon Hollander very enthusiastic about this year’s six round series.

“Greg Hume and the Papanui Club did a great job getting the series started eight years ago, but they now need a hand to inject some new energy and ideas,We offer first shoesforkids and children's orthopedic shoes.” he said. “We have applied our experience from running a number of other cycling events and I’m really pleased with how the series is now looking for this year,New Style Jeans womenssandals on sale with fast delivery!” he said.

Hollander said the first teams to enter came from the master’s category but he was looking forward to seeing entries develop from the elite and women’s categories this week.

“This series attracts the best riders in the country that are not overseas racing so I’m really keen to see who is named in the various teams. There is nothing like this series in the country. It gives riders the chance to experience riding with support vehicles and a race convoy usually only seen in large domestic tour events like the Powernet Tour of Southland and the NZCT Cycle Classic in the Manawatu.”

Riders named so far include George Bennett who rides for the UCI ProTour team RadioShack-Leopard, Olympic medallist Marc Ryan and former under 23 national road race champion and current national time trial champion Michael Vink. Hollander said he expected an influx of entries this week as entries must be in before the Tuesday prior to race day.
