A two-run sixth inning led the Yellow Jackets to a 5-3 win over Wilkinson Junior High in the April 11 final game, held at Oakleaf High School.
Oakleaf Junior High came into the tournament as the fourth seed, based on its season record against divisional teams. But the team defeated the first seed, Lake Asbury Junior High, 6-5 in the semifinal game and beat Wilkinson Junior High 5-3 in the final.
Oakleaf has been in the championship game each of the past five years, losing only in 2010 to Lake Asbury, according to Coach Paul Marsh.
"The Yellow Jackets had a challenge this season. ... This was a building year.
