USA. Gold Medalist Mark Spitz confirmed as the 2011 National Safe Boating Council spokesperson

The National Safe Boating Council (NSBC) is pleased to announce Mark Spitz, nine-time gold medalist swimmer and motivational speaker, as the spokesperson for the 2011 North American Safe Boating Campaign.
In addition to his support of the "Wear It!" campaign, Spitz will appear in a Public Service Announcement on behalf of the NSBC reminding people to always wear a life jacket while boating or participating in other water activities.
"Accidents can happen fast on the water and if you're not wearing your life jacket even the best swimmers in the world can end up in trouble. A life jacket can't save your life unless you wear it," Mark Spitz said. "Life jackets are no longer the big, bulky, uncomfortable designs they once were. Now, life jackets come in many easy to wear designs -- including inflatable life jackets."
Spitz has been a swimmer his entire life.
