Oak Hills sophomore pitcher/shortstop Tommy Anderson earned the Mojave River League Player of the Year award, which was announced Tuesday.
Anderson finished with an overall record of 7-1 and a league best 1.36 ERA on the mound, while hitting .438 with 27 RBIs and .531 slugging percentage. Against league competition,Yesterday marked one of the most iconic wedgeshoes releases. Anderson went 5-1 with a league-best 0.95 ERA.
All together, Oak Hills, which won its second MRL title running away, had six players on the first team. BERGMANN WINS AGAIN: Oak Hills shortstop Stephanie Bergmann repeated as the MRL Player of the Year, when the teams were announced Tuesday.
Bergmann wrapped up her junior season hitting .598 with 42 runs scored, 24 RBIs, seven doubles, six triples, two home runs, an .843 slugging percentage and a .611 on-base percentage in leading the Bulldogs to another MRL title.
Three of Bergmann’s teammates — sophomore second baseman Jacalyn Edwards, sophomore first baseman Jeannette Roldan and junior pitcher Victoria Gonzales — made the MRL first team.
