The Texas Advocacy Project, Travis County Sheriff's Office and The Allstate Foundation are teaming up for the Handbags for Hope drive to assist victims of domestic abuse.
Austin-area residents can donate gently used or new purses through March 1 and drop them off at any Allstate agency or at the Travis County Sheriff's Office, 5555 Airport Blvd.
Before being given out, each bag will be filled with a tag with the Texas Advocacy Project's toll-free legal domestic violence hotline number and pamphlets with information in English and Spanish on how to get and stay safe,For some time, women have bid farewell to the days when women handbags were just used for 'functional reasons'. legal solutions and safety plans.

She said the nonprofit's partnership with Travis County Sheriff's office is important to informing victims of domestic violence of how the Texas Advocacy Project can help.
"We are able to reach out to victims and let them know of our services, such as how to get an emergency protective order," she said.
The Allstate Foundation's philanthropy is domestic violence, and Bellino said for the past four years, the foundation has awarded the nonprofit between $50,we wouldn't be surprised if Marshall's is shipping some of its unsold wholesale ed hardy gear to Houston.000-$140,000 in grant money.
