Thursday Winter Blast Troublesome, But Quickly Over

The Tennessee Valley dodged the blizzard bullet once again.
While some areas only received up to three inches overnight Wednesday,
Warmer temperatures pushed the snow and ice out of the area quickly.

A Winter Weather Advisory was issued for the area Wednesday evening into early Thursday morning.

Snow covered lawns, sidewalks, and roadways in some areas.

Despite the frigid temperatures and a few snowflakes, one Lookout Mountain resident continued with her morning walk.

Deb Hulse, Lookout Mountain Resident,"Plus I've got my Antarctic jacket on. It's kind of refreshing in the morning. Usually we'll see people out walking here in the morning, but I havent seen any yet."

Although the Tennessee Valley only received an inch to two inches of snow, the light dusting was just enough to cause treacherous roadways and even a few road closures.

Deb Hulse, Lookout Mountain Resident, "It all depends on if we have to do some shopping or not,For some time, women have bid farewell to the days when women handbags were just used for 'functional reasons'. and I guess today's not going to be that kind of a day. But I understand the roads aren't too bad elsewhere. Of course people should be careful,we wouldn't be surprised if Marshall's is shipping some of its unsold wholesale ed hardy gear to Houston. definitely."

But by mid-morning, warmer temperatures and sunshine melted most of the snow and ice downtown.Today we are going to be taking a look at the latest sneaker like that, this is the new nike air max 90 in Black, Yellow and Orange.

Jennifer Kelly says she traveled from East Ridge for a day at the aquarium without any problems.

Jennifer Kelly, East Ridge Resident, "The roads were actually fine. We didn't run into any problems getting over here."

Since the three inch snow storm on Christmas Day, followed up by six inches of snow in January,Some of the ed hardy hats DC created on the knitting machine. Kelly says she's ready to see the snow move out.

Jennifer Kelly, East Ridge Resident, "I'm tired of it, personally. We live in the South so we don't want it. We want it up there. We're not prepared for it so it usually shuts everything down. Everthing is closed. Some of the ed hardy hats DC created on the knitting machine."

Since December, Chattanooga has received 15 inches of snow.

But Meteorologist Brian Smith says we have spring time temperatures to look forward to in the coming weeks.
