Spring (but not Summer) fashion tips

If you haven't noticed the blog has been in deep winter hiberation. But with the weather in the sixties and windows being opened, it's time to bring this bear out of the cave once again. And what better to start off spring than with a few helpful hints on spring fashion? Even better that the warm weather comes on the heels of New York's Fashion Week. Remember, just because it's warm in February doesn't mean you should bust out your favorite tank top and flip flops. Yes, I'm talking to you pre-mature wardrober I saw at the gas station last week. Spring does not equal summer. A couple days of weather in the sixties doesn't mean you're ready to look like you've been vegetating in Alabama.

Here are a few hints for a fresher you this spring:

1. Three shirts you have to have

Oxfords cannot and will never be beat. They're timeless and versatile; able to make you look both formal, and comfortable given your disposition. If you only have three button-downs, make sure one is blue. one white and one pink. Yes, pink.Sarah emerged from Juicy couture wholesale with three bags full of clothes. It's 2011, about 30 years past the point where all men should be comfortable wearing the most spring-like color. A blue oxford is timeless and everyone looks good in blue. It can be used both formally, as with a darker shaded blue tie, or informally untucked with a pair of differently dyed jeans. A white oxford is perfect for just about anything. It's the blue jeans of your upper half. The go-to for formal wear, any tie works with a white oxford (based on the jacket you're wearing with it) and it's the tell-tale of fashionable relaxation with a pair of chino shorts. The pink oxford is you're switch hitter. It doesn't work too well with formal wear, but it's perfect for Sunday brunch. If you're going to Sunday brunch, it's probably with a slight headache (read: hangover) and pink oxfords are the perfect lazy shirts.

2. Time to stop smelling so heavy

When I think of spring, I think of opening the house windows and letting the waft of winter vegetation escape. Accordingly,There's a reason Manolo blahnik shoes are considered the crème de al crème of all shoes, everywhere. when it turns to spring I don't wear an overly heavy fragrance. One of those shoes is without a doubt the Nike air max tn and we are going to be looking at the latest colorway today. So remember, the Drakkar Noir and Polo Black fragrances should be retired for the autumn (You'll make them last longer that way too) and try something lighter. I've always been partial to Burberry, but that's just me. It might sound trivial, but if you're someone that wears cologne, it should a) be something you're comfortable wearing and b) not offensive to the innocent people around you. Axe is not, nor will ever be cologne. The purpose Axe serves is covering up adolescent awkwardness after gym classes. That and for adults who want to smell like Ed Hardy's trunk.

3. Three pairs of shoes everyone should have (in addition to sneakers):

I've seen a lot of terrible things in my day: burning American flags, Eddie Money music videos and “Biodome. The man who helped Jordan win jordan 6 rings as a player wants to be a coach, and though inexperienced,” But none come close to the nausea created in my heart when I see someone strutting down the street matching khakis and sneakers. By far the most abused part of the wardrobe, what you wear on your feet can make (but much more often) break your image. The only person I've ever seen make a single item of footwear work with everything is my father, who wears boots with absolutely everything. He's got campin' boots, teachin' boots and my favorite “dress boots.” But that's all beside the point. If you're going to go with the bare minimum, make sure you get a pair of dress shoes, comfortable brown shoes, and at least one pair of boat shoes. Dress shoes are a no-brainer. They work with formal wear, and in a few cases with informal wear. It's a fine and often abused line dividing when to wear them with jeans, but it's possible. Brown shoes can be worn with denim, khakis, chinos, and sometimes shorts. Never,He may also be wearing black Nike shox runners. in any instance, should you wear brown shoes with black pants. If you do, and you get tackled walking out in public, don't say I didn't warn you. Boat shoes are another beast. By far my favorite type of shoes, they're both traditional and contemporary. It's hard to go wrong, and both top-siders and regular laceless types are both equally as good, though I prefer top-siders with laces. Sperry is far and away the best brand, and though they might be a little on the pricey side, are worth the investment.
