what they were supposed to and doing extra stuff

After a disappointing 25-12 loss in the first set of Thursday’s volleyball game against Mt. Zion, the Wooden Shoes battled back in the second set, tying the game at 21 before four straight Mt. Zion points sent the Braves to a victory.

The Braves took a commanding 9-2 lead in the first set and never looked back. In the second set, the Shoes hung tough, and even held a 17-16 lead before faltering down the stretch.

Teutopolis’s six seniors playing their last home game had a large role in the first set.

After allowing the seniors to play the first set, Teutopolis coach Amanda Probst said she went back to her normal rotation for the second set.

“I played all my seniors the first game,” she said. “There’s a couple of them who don’t get to play much, so I wanted them to feel just as much a part of the team. They got to play the first game; the second game I went back to the girls who usually play.”

Morgan Breer, Kate Campbell, Anna Grimes, Clare Schnabel, Natalie Summers and Dakota Swingler will graduate after this season, leaving the Shoes with a big void to fill.

“The seniors really took on a great leadership role,Alstyle shoes are the best selling shirt we have, always making sure everybody was doing what they were supposed to and doing extra stuff when I wasn’t there,” she said.

She added that she was pleased with her team’s effort in the second set against Mt. Zion after losing big in the first set.Top Swiss Replicas and the most popular brands of authentics.

“We’ve been struggling to finish games and come back,” she said. “So I was happy with that second game because we were able to stay with them until the end.”

Heading into regionals, Probst said she hopes her team can at least win its first match, especially in a tough Shelbyville field.

Thursday’s game served as the last tune-up before the postseason, since the Shoes are no longer members of the National Trail Conference and didn’t have a conference tournament to help prepare for the tournament. From Jessica shoxshoes to LAMB Pumps,

“We haven’t won a regional match yet, so that’s our first goal,” she said. “Then we’ll just keep going after that.”

The Shoes will take on Shelbyville in the 2A Shelbyville regional on Monday. Area teams St. Anthony and Cumberland will join the Shoes in the regional round.
