Diamond rings and designer watches were
stolen from a jewellers by thieves who fled on bikes.
The raid happened at Victoria Highfield Jewellers in Heaton Moor Road, Stockport just before 5pm on Friday , January 11.
The two used a sledgehammer to smash the window before reaching in and stealing items of jewellery including Rolex and Tag Heuer watches and diamond rings.
They fled on two bicycles, which they had left next to the Co-op store opposite the jewellers.
Both were white men. The first man is around 6ft and slim. He was wearing a black hooded coat, balaclava and black gloves.
The second man is around 5ft 6and stocky. He was also wearing all black and a balaclava.
Police are now appealing to anyone with information about the burglary to come forward.
DC James Grundy of Stockport CID said: "The offenders have stolen a large amount of valuable jewellery therefore I would appeal to anyone who has information about this, or perhaps thinks they know who might be involved, to call us.
"If you saw these men fleeing the jewellers, or perhaps riding the bicycles as they made their escape, then we need to hear from you.
“One of the witnesses saw a member of the public taking a photograph of the offenders whilst committing the burglary. If this was you or you know who it was we would urge you to come forward as it may provide vital evidence.
“We would also ask members of the public to be extra vigilant if anyone tries to sell any Rolex or Tag Heuer watches and diamond rings,cheap stainless lacefront wholesalers on DHgate and get worldwide delivery. and if approached to contact police.”
