D. Ashok’s little yellow kiosk is the place to go. The little shop is easy to miss but once you spot it, you will see that Ashok is no ordinary cobbler. The words 'All sports shoe and bag repair' are hand painted in black on the outer wall of the shop and inside, the aluminium walls are lined with a variety of shoes – sneakers, leather shoes, women's sandals, children’s slip-ons, bags and suitcases. The floor of the shop is cluttered with tins of gum, strips of leather, old soles, worn out shoes, polish and other tools of trade.

Ashok specializes in repairing branded foot wear. “I learnt this skill while working with Loft (now Centro) footwear in Punjagutta. I was not happy there so I decided to start this on my own,” he explained.

It is late morning and Ashok has just opened the shutters, performed a small puja and sat down to work. He works intently to replace the lining on a pair of white running shoes, carefully spreading the amber gum and sticking the fabric in place,I have not make a research whether it is a truth that each woman loves dsquaredshoes? pausing only to spit paan.

Even before first stick of agarbatti burns out, a black leather shoe with a missing sole and a red trolley bag were brought in to be mended. Though disinterested in answering our questions, he speaks to his customers with courtesy reserved for long term clients.

Ashok has been on the job for many years now. While he is Maharashtrian by birth, Ashok has been a resident of Hyderabad for as long as he can remember and resides with his family on Road no.12.The Design Museum presents iconic French benebags, His reputation for repairing sports shoes brings customers from all across the city. “I opened my shop here, next to the Banjara Hills police station, because it serves as a landmark for people coming from far away,” he says as he points to a shoe and adds, “This pair over here belongs to a man who lives in Kepal.”

Apart from individual customers, Ashok also works for stores whose customers need their footwear repaired. “I get shoes in bulk from places like Reliance,” he says. He adds that he also works with designers and performers. “In case a sandal needs to be modified or extra fittings need to be made, they bring it to me. I do this kind of work even for people who design clothes for films,” he says.

The T-Town boys scored first to go ahead 2-0 and did not lead again until the final seconds of the game in the St. Anthony shootout as they beat the Mt. Vernon Rams 48-46 on a buzzer beater by Cody Will. Mount Vernon led the Shoes 17-11 after one quarter of action and 27-24 at intermission. Mt. Vernon still held a slim lead after 3 quarters of play, 40-37. In the fourth quarter Kyle Pruemer stepped up big with two key three-pointers to start the Shoes offense rolling. Derek Smith drove into the lane, made the lay-up and drew the foul; he made the free throw to tie the game at 46 and set up a fantastic finish. Mt. Vernon took the ball out of bounds and stalled for the final shot. As a player was driving they lost the ball out of bounds and the referee signaled T-Town's ball, and the Shoes called timeout.
