Jerrett Ferrier used to cringe as he drove past the concrete barrier near the entrance of Glen Echo Park as he drove to visit his father-in-law in Bethesda.

A muralist by profession, Ferrier painted the 277-feet long and three feet high circular concrete barrier that sits inside a traffic circle at MacArthur Boulevard and Goldsboro Roads to look a rustic stone wall.
"It doesn't really look like a stone wall but if you're just driving by you're going to mentally assume," he said.

During the more than two months Ferrier crouched to paint on the shoulder of a busy roadway, he began to get bored of just painting stones, so he began to add bushes, flowers and vines.
"The best part really was the number of people who were really grateful that I was doing it," Ferrier said. "Because it really has been so unattractive."
Exploring Kensington
