When did you first become interested in fashion?

I’m a Texas girl. I grew up as a minister’s daughter and despite the fact that we didn’t have a lot of money, I always loved fashion. My mom always taught me that you could be incredibly fashionable without having to spend a lot. I like that my collection features pieces I have always loved — like denim and soft T-shirts, and it’s as affordable as it is cute, so it really reflects who I am.

What was your style when you were younger? Girly or tomboy? Now?

Always been a jeans and T-shirt girl. I feel the best, and most like myself, in a great pair of jeans, a T-shirt and high heels.

How much influence do you have on the line?

I am very involved in the design process. It is something my mother and I work on together — from inspiration to color to design to fit and final approval, we set the tone each season. I touch every item in the collection … and wear them, too.
