Slow start cripples Hats again

Cold starts in each half undid the Hatters in a 59-45 loss to Atlantic Sun Conference opponent Belmont on Wednesday at the Edmunds Center.

Stetson (5-8, 1-3 A-Sun) did battle back to take a one point lead at halftime, but the Hatters started the second half shooting just 4-of-15, fell behind 45-33 and never recovered. The stock of the new collection of jordan 6 rings are particularly rich in precious details and glamorous.

Three Hatters scored in double figures, with Tierra Brown and Victoria McGowan each scoring 11, and Sasha Sims addinging 10.

McGowan had just one assist and nine turnovers, but she was able to come up with five steals, and is currently No. 2 in steals (2.67 per game) in the conference.

It was the second game in a row Stetson had come out cold. Against Lipscomb on Monday, Stetson missed nine of their first 14 shots.

In that game, Stetson almost recovered with a late push, forcing overtime with a balanced offensive outpouring. Six players scored in double figures for the Hatters vs. Lipscomb, the first time Stetson has done that since a Feb. 19, 2000 win at UCF.

Bria said she knows her players can get hot, but, "We've just struggled all year coming out in the first five or seven minutes of the second half.

"I thought their zone bothered us. (Belmont) went to a zone in the second half and it just kind of stifled us," Bria said. "We became very passive against it. . .
